Our client, a top-tier Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Manager of Unified Communications to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the firm’s communications systems. This role is critical in driving the firm's transition to cloud-based solutions and ensuring seamless, secure communication capabilities across a global workforce.

Position Overview:
The Manager of Unified Communications will be responsible for leading the strategic development and daily management of the firm’s communication platforms including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in migrating from legacy on-premise systems to modern cloud environments, especially focusing on Microsoft Teams Calling.

Key Responsibilities:
Platform Management & Administration
• Administer and optimize Microsoft Teams for chat, video conferencing, and telephony (PSTN integration)
• Oversee Microsoft 365 email administration and Microsoft OneDrive, ensuring data security and compliance
• Maintain and support Cisco CUCM during its phased transition to Teams Calling
Migration & Transformation
• Lead the migration of on-premise collaboration and telecom systems to cloud-based platforms
• Manage all stages of the migration process to minimize disruption and maintain high availability
Leadership & Team Management
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and administrators
• Drive a high-performance culture aligned with organizational standards
Strategic Planning
• Develop a forward-looking unified communications strategy to support the firm’s evolving needs
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance communication and collaboration
Operational Excellence
• Monitor platform performance, usage, and security
• Ensure regulatory compliance and develop disaster recovery strategies
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to assess and meet organizational communication needs
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex issues impacting unified communications
User Support & Training
• Oversee training and onboarding programs for new tools and features
• Support helpdesk and end users with escalated issues and adoption initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator or Cisco CCNP Collaboration preferred
• 7+ years of experience in IT with a focus on unified communications
• Proven experience managing Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and migrating legacy systems to the cloud
• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams
• Proficient in network protocols, telephony infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 administration
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
